If you want a strong and healthy smile at work, then you need to keep your teeth and gums in mind. Unfortunately, there are habits and other things that can harm your smile while you work. So, it’s important to avoid those things and do everything you can to keep your oral health in tip-top shape. To help you do so, our dentists, Drs. Damji and Myerson, encourage you to do the following things:
-Brush your teeth after lunch: In order to do so, you need to pack your toothbrush and toothpaste with you to work. Or, you can have a separate toothbrush and tube of toothpaste in your desk drawer. Make sure to brush after lunch to remove food particles and keep your smile clean, healthy and strong.
-Don’t use your teeth as tools: Using your teeth as tools, like to open a package or rip off a tag, can fracture the tooth enamel. The crack can be small at first, but the longer you use your teeth as tools, the bigger the crack can get. Then the entire tooth can be damaged.
-Pack a tooth-healthy lunch: The best foods to pack in your lunch are fruits, vegetables, protein and dairy products. The foods and drinks to avoid are those that are sugary and acidic.
